The choice between Doering and solid house Rhine River was not easy. Both vendors were on convincing and flexible. Each had its advantages. All three remaining companies have made a first offer. Thus, the decision was "solid or house" much easier than expected.
There is indeed a comparison of two models to weigh a lot. Many statements you often hear voices, just not what they used to. For example, in terms of insulation values. Apparently you get a house in the stone-by-brick process nearly as good as a pre-insulated house - at least each of the three offers was combined with the promise that we will achieve the new standard "KfW Efficiency House 55". Also, the resale value of a prefabricated house is no longer as far below the massive house value as it once was. And "just wood" does not result in finished house - especially when one takes Danhaus like an outer shell made of stone or plaster. Ultimately, however, has
the price difference made the decision easy. The Danhaus model was based execution, though its price is unbeatable. But then came our change requests:
Schade won the Danhaus representative who was extremely much trouble, very convincing, and, ultimately, nothing for the external basement can offer. When you think of a finished house and a simpler operation than we do: Danhaus is recommended, especially the office in Mannheim. At first we were afraid of having too many suppliers selected to compare. Now they are so nice and catapult themselves out of the race. For nearly two months, we are waiting for a response from Heinz von Heiden. Apparently, the good man was still overwhelmed with the planning.

end of April we first met with the representatives of the massive house Rhine River GmbH. His approach was somewhat promising: We sat together in the evening and he has made a number of issues loosely in conversation. He let us talk a lot and has asked more specifically explained or even if our ideas "spongy" were. So many conditions on the project for us, have emerged, which we somehow were not so clear. But he seemed with all the information requested as everything else, We also have much to explain in a pleasant dialogue. Now he is planning to retire and first. We are excited!
Quite different was the first experience with Heinz von Heiden. Despite explanation of our ideas on the phone before the representative grabbed his first brochures from the standard houses. After we had checked off all quite fast, for one reason or another (usually because a residential unit above the other was, as we are still not an option), we came to the actual beginning of the conversation. After the "discovery process" with the competitor of massive house Rhine River, we were well prepared: Here is the piece, here the building window, here is our idea. Then we have bred together through various ideas. A concept which is suggested by the representative, had great benefits - but retired after a long reflection on the building window is too small. The conversation went to 20.30 clock ("Closing Date" just!) And the planner seemed slightly exhausted at some point. We broke off with the state: He is thinking, plans a bit, and will call or e-mail.

Between 31.03. and today we had initial talks with LuxHaus Danhaus and the finished house in the center of Mannheim. The show homes of the two companies make a very high quality feel, and both seem to contact the task of even not-so-simple Planning has grown. Also, general tips for building they have at hand. The picture shows the LuxHaus object in Mannheim ( Source: LuxHaus.de ) - happens to be a duplex, although not quite match our expectations.
For both vendors, we have asked more than told - the advantages and disadvantages of prefabricated houses, we want to understand.

Nevertheless, the opinion: We found a very nice corner lot in Nieder-Olm in Rheinhessen (we do not want too much of our beautiful Mainz away) can and reserve. It is not huge (in Mainz near land is expensive) but the forward planner got to be on the challenge of the double house to bring good at.

After extensive internet research and Rumhören we will focus on three vendors for solid houses (brick-by-stone) Focus: Concrete Doering, Massivhaus Middle Rhine and Heinz von Heiden . Overheard last and we read lots of light and shadow, but said the offers are so low. Therefore, we will listen to everything. We will report on our discussions with the three, and with the prefabricated house party LuxHaus and Danhaus .
